BYOC Participating Businesses
The following East Aurora businesses have agreed to offer customers the opportunity to "Bring Their Own Containers". Please remember to thank them for this service and respect their rules/limitations. In accordance with County & State Health Dept. regulations, a restaurant cannot handle your home container. They will bring your food to you and then you pack it up! When ordering be sure to tell them you are BYOC!
(PS: Check out this great link for re-useable produce/bulk bags and take out containers- ditch the plastic today!)
East Aurora Co-op Market
BYOC for the EA Food Co-op's extensive bulk food section, their produce aisle, and soup bar! They also sell re-useable produce bags for bagging all those wonderful "naked" fruits and veggies! (Remember to weigh your container at the produce scale or ask a cashier to weigh it before you fill.) (And don't forget to bring your reusable peanut butter jar for the fresh peanut- butter-grinding machine!)

Elm Street Bakery

Together we can learn to "See the World in Green" when we make small changes that
make a big difference. Elm Street Bakery is proud to offer a 10% discount on coffee & bread when you bring in a reusable bread bag or travel mug. They sell quality bread bags for storage or freezing, bamboo cutlery, elegant glass straws, and pocket-foldable, reusable shopping bags. BYOC for leftovers is also welcome!

Kornerstone Cafe
For take-out food or drinks you're welcome to BYOC! Kornerstone also gives a $1.00 rebate for any of their juice or Kombucha bottles that customers return. Combining their love of coffee with a love of healthy, natural foods and juices, each of Kornerstone Cafe & Juice Bar's menu items are free from artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. They also have an extensive selection of Fair Trade Coffees.

Roycroft Restaurant
You won't see our Salamander BYOC Window Decal here, (Historic Preservation Rules apply for this East Aurora architectural treasure) but The Roycroft Inn allows you to pack all your too-good-to-be-left behind leftovers in your BYO container!
Flowers By Nature
Bring your favorite vase from home and Flowers By Nature will use it to create a beautiful floral masterpiece- a great way to give your home or gift that special personal touch!
Country Cupboard
Country Cupboard's delicious homemade freezer soups and chili are "container-return friendly". Pre-order or buy them directly from the freezer. Then, return the container and store owner, Diane, will upcycle it. She also accepts clean, dry plastic take-out containers (clamshells are great!) plus other bothersome plastic tubs & containers that aren't currently being accepted for recycling. She passes them on to day care centers and teachers who need them for craft supplies. She also accepts second hand clothing in clean, good condition for local families in need.
Misters Bar & Lanes
Mister's is proud to be part of the BYOC campaign for your leftovers or take-out. Mister's strives to be environmentally conscious in their decision-making & choices. They proactively eliminated plastic straws, replacing them with ones made from sugar cane. Mister's is also very conscious about using drinking glasses versus plastic cups for dining-in patrons. Please help support them in this effort- take good care of their glassware!

East Aurora Christian Church
Our BYOC project salutes reusable Communion Cups at the East Aurora
Christian Church! "Bringing Your Own Container" has been a long standing component of church practices for refreshments and events. The church also proudly participates in the Green Chalice Program- an environmental certification honor that's earned via a 3 step process. Thanks to the efforts of their dedicated "Green Team" with support from Pastor Jan Mahle, environmental efforts are integrated into all Church activities.
Benzinger's Clothing Care
Benzinger’s Clothing Care sells BYOC Eco bags that are a no-plastic alternative for customers. These durable garment bags eliminate the use of plastic. Free delivery service reduces the need for driving and their delivery routes are continually reorganized to maximize efficiency. Benzinger's will also recycle hangers – theirs and yours. Last but not least, Benzinger's uses dry cleaning solutions that meet tough environmental standards and are recycled for multiple uses along with high-tech machines that fulfill stringent statutory environmental regulations. Professional dry and wet cleaning extends the life of your clothing, and this means less clothing in landfills.
42 North Brewing Company
$15 buys you a reusable, aluminum custom cup at the 42 North Brewing Company. When you purchase your BYO cup, you can drink again and again paying only $5 for a draft each time.
The tops of the cans sold at the brewery are reused, sanitized and ready for the next set of take-out cans.
Also, when customers bring in 50 pak-tecs, they will get a BOGO (Buy One Get One) deal for a 4 pack.

The Brewery also serves glasses for in-dining and beverage. Please take good care of them!
The Mandala School
Dr. John Newton, principal and founder of the Mandala school, proudly shows the BYOC sticker with all his students and faculty who’ve been practicing the BYOC mantra for years. Every lunchbox is fully packed with healthy lunches from home. Refillable water bottles are a daily staple of backpack contents. Trash cans are slow to fill thanks to a compost bin in the kitchen.
More than half of Mandala’s students have developed these habits from their first days at school. All students have been taught : “What you bring in, you take back home”… just like our parks! Mandala would not have it any other way.
East Aurora Garden Club
An honorary BYOC Sticker is awarded to the East Aurora Garden Club to honor their commitment to making their meetings and events as waste-free as possible. Every member of this volunteer organization brings their own tableware, utensils, and cups to the club's lunch meetings. They are doing their part, indoors and out, to make our community a more beautiful place!
Wallenwein's Hotel
Owner Ben Holmes proudly displays "Wally's" BYOC sticker to the front door of East Aurora's legendary Wallenwein Hotel.
Whether it's for their famous Wings, Fish Fry, Pork Chops & Applesauce- or the next Bill's game- Ben says it's ok to BYOC for all your orders and leftovers!
The Bookworm
Another honorary BYOC Sticker is awarded to the Bookworm for their commitment to loop recycling. As a used bookstore they embody the value of re-use. When a book's lifespan has passed the second-use phase, they offer a recycle bin to ensure the books will be converted to paper. In their front parking lot, the Bookworm hosts a bin for returnable bottles and cans as a fundraiser for Messinger Woods Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. And this is the only store we know of in East Aurora with a sign on their entry door reminding us "Did you remember your reusable bag"?
Masterson's Garden Center
A hearty welcome to Mike Masterson and his family-run Garden Center as the newest addition to our group of BYOC businesses! Instead of throwing away all those plastic nursery pots that collect in our garages every spring/summer, you can return your plant pots to their bin located in the the shady perennial garden area. (You can also take pots from the bin for free.) Mike says you can also BYOC when buying/refiling their honey from their on-site apiary. As an extra bonus, Masterson's carries a wide variety of Native Plants and locally produced Ecoverde Compost!
